Abstract

According to the experimental observations of the original paper, for those conditions in which the ratio of yt/p is less than 1, the authors emphasized that the weirs may be operated under the submerged flow conditions. These conditions include 23 experimental data series from the submerged flow conditions, as attached in Appendix III of the original paper. Nevertheless, Wahlin and Replogle (1994) have found that the submerged flow is restricted to those conditions where the tailwater depth (yt) increases from the weir height (p). It should be mentioned that the precise determination of submergence threshold may lead to the high accurate flow measurements
