The z-source converter is an alternative power conversion topology which provides larger range of output DC voltage and is more reliable than other topologies. In this paper we propose the current mode control of bidirectional z-source dc-dc converter. Compensators are designed for closed-loop operation based on the transfer functions of bidirectional z-source dc-dc. In current mode control, the order of the system is reduced by one. Simulations are carried out for of bidirectional z-source dc-dc converter using MATLAB/SIMULINK. Performances of the designed compensators are tested by applying load disturbances.
