Pollution and excessive use seriously compromise the availability of fresh water around the world and may be the cause of serious conflicts in the future. It is necessary to protect and produce high quality water in sufficient quantity at an affordable cost, while preserving the ecosystems. After overturn of an oiler containing methyl t-butyl ether (MTBE) in Qeshlaq river, that contaminate the Qeshlaq dam in 20 km at north of Sanandaj, we decided to analyze the physio-chemical properties of those waters. The following parameters were considered: pH, turbidity, EC, total hardness, alkalinity, TDS, DO, BOD5, COD, and the variety of anions and cations such as F-, Cl-, SO42-, NO2-, NO3-, PO43-, S2-, Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, K+, Mn, and heavy and toxic elements such as Cr, Pb, As, Hg, and Cd, .... The novel and up-to-date methods were carried out and the more useful results were produced. Finally, the results were analyzed and interpreted.
