Abstract

Introduction:Children with histories of maltreatment, such as physical and psychological neglect, aggression, depression and anxiety, are at risk of developing severe psychological problems. In particular, they are likely to develop Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD). The aggression, depression and anxiety experienced is the result of abuse or neglect, inflicted by a primary caregiver, which disrupts the normal development of secure attachment. Such children are at risk of developing disorganized attachment, which is associated with a number of developmental problems, including dissociative symptoms, as well as depressive, anxiety, and acting-out symptoms. The term ‘disorganized attachment’ is a research category used to describe a pattern and style of attachment behavior and the attachment system. The term 'Reactive Attachment Disorder’ is a psychological diagnosis defined by criteria in the DSM-IV. Objective: This study was aimed to Study the effectiveness of Attachment therapy for symptom improvement of children suffering from aggression, depression and anxiety. Method: children (age: 10-12) out of all students in basic school of Sanandaj city, were selected by resorting to random sampling method. Applying SCL-90-R test, aggressive, depressed, and anxious children were diagnosed. 60 subjects were randomly assigned into two groups (30 subjects in each Group). Therefore, three groups were organized as Attachment therapy and control groups. The SCL-90-R scale was employed both before and after Interventions for measuring aggression, depression and Anxiety of subjects. Results: The results showed that Attachment therapy in affecting on reduction and improvement of aggression, and Anxiety of children. Conclusion: In short the results showed that Attachment therapy as a modern therapy method that based on parent- child relationship, improvement of aggression, and Anxiety of children, therefore therapist can used it in counseling and therapy centered.
