چکیده

ABSTRACT Objective: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between self-differentiation, mental well-being and welfare and the quality of an individual’s married life, specifically in the framework of Bowen's theory. Methods: Research method is descriptive-correlation. The sample size for this research, a descriptive correlation, were 560 contenders who were chosen at random among the clients of a number of counseling centers throughout the city of Isfahan, located in central Iran. Instruments utilized in this procedure consisted of Differentiation of Self Inventory-2 (DSI-2), General Health Questionnaire (GHQ), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), Positive and Negative Effects Scales (PANES) as well as Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale (RDAS). Results: Measurements were taken out to ensure the legitimacy of this research: First, the validity of the subject questionnaires were examined by the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Second, the structural model for the conceptualization of the relationship between differentiation of self and other factors mentioned with the quality of an individual’s married life is presented and accordingly adjusted by reviewing preceding studies in the framework of Bowen's theory. Conclusion: It was concluded that the questionnaires in use were indeed valid and the regarding limitations to this study in the presented model was confirmed.
