Abstract

Catalyst recovery and reusability are the two most important features for many catalytic processes, most heterogeneous systems require a filtration or centrifugation step or a tedious workup of the final reaction mixture to recover the catalyst. However, magnetically supported nanocatalysts can be recovered with an external magnet. Herein, we have designed a new and effective synthesis of Ni anchored carboxamide functionalized CoFe2O4 nanoparticles and its application as a heterogeneous catalyst in the oxidation of sulfides, oxidative coupling of thiols (scheme 1). The catalysts were easily isolable by magnetic decantation from the reaction flask and reused several times with almost constant efficacy. The prepared nanohybrids characterized by different techniques such as FT-IR, SEM, EDX, XRD, TGA and VSM
