Abstract: - In the present paper, compressed air system (CAS) of 12 companies in two provinces of Iran are studied. They are questioned about different parts of CAS of their company. Among them only one company have measured waste, leakage and pressure drop of different parts of CAS. Based on the present investigation most of studied companies haven’t cared about the efficiency of CAS. In most of factories they haven’t paid attention to the erosion problem in heat exchangers (Aftercooler), and they don’t know about the importance of dew point temperature. The inspection process is very ordinary and don’t even use soap water to find leakages. The distance between storage tank and consumers of compressed air in most of cases is long. This application Note explains why these systems are often inefficient, and introduces typical opportunities for saving energy.
