Here, we investigate cosmic inflation in different scenarios beyond the standard model. To do this, we first review inflation in different frameworks containing modified gravity, scalar-tensor gravity and non-canonical scalar field models. Then, we obtain inflationary observables including the scalar spectral index, the tensor-to-scalar ratio, the running of the scalar spectral index and non-Gaussianity parameters. Finally, we examine viability of the selected models in light of the Planck data.
