Copper (II) nitrate trihydrate was used as an efficient, inexpensive, and commercially available catalyst for the biomimetic aerobic oxidative of 2,3-dihydroquinazolinones. These methods are more eco-friendly, efficient, simple, and practical than currently available ones because the method conforms to several of the guiding principles of green chemistry.
