To study the role of Fusarium spp. In root and crown of wheat during 2004- 2005 growing season, infected samples were collected from irrigated fields in various areas of Kurdistan province. Plants samples in the Laboratory were washed under running water, and 2 mm pieces of each sample were surface - disinfested in 2% sodium hypochlorite solution, and plated on PDA, SNA and CLA mediums containing antibiotics. Among the 160 Fusarium isolates, 5 species were identified as Fusarium culmorum, F. graminearum, F. oxysporum, F. solani and F. equiseti With 73, 38, 23, 18 and 8 isolates, respectively. F. culmorum had the most frequency among the other isolates. The results of Pathogenicity tests showed that F. culmorum, F. graminearum and F. oxysporum were pathogenic on Alvand cultivar seedling. 1
