Bipolaris cynodontis was isolated from root ofwheat. Root samples randomly collected from root farm and were taken from plants dug up at the flowering stage. Samples were transferred to cereal pathology Lab. After surface sterilization with sodium hypo chloride (0.5%) and rinsing in sterile distilled water, small pieces of Diseases tissue were placed on 2% water agar medium before sub culturing on PDA medium to obtain pure cultures. The cardinal temperatures for growth were 6 (min), 27-30 (opt) and 38 (max). Conidiophores were sympodial (90-170) (4.8-6.8) mic. conidia were short, oval with round tip, 5-8 septate, (30-83) (12-15) mic. The pathogenicity test was carried out in the greenhouse at Plant pest and Diseases research Institute. In order this work, plants were grown in greenhouse at 16-20 centigrade degger until the five leaf growth stage. Severity of diseases was evaluated 14 days after inoculation. This is the first report of B . cynodontis from Iran.
