The subduction of the Neotethys oceanic crust under the sub-microplate of Central Iran and the subsequent continental collision (suture zone) between Central Iran and the Arabian Plate has been associated with the emplacement of numerous ophiolitic masses along the Zagros Thrust Zone, part of which occurred in the northwestern region. The ore indications observed in the ophiolitic masses in the northwest of the Zagros zone include two groups of : metal and non-metal deposits, which are often introduced in geological exploration studies. The first group of metal deposits: Includes the minerals of chromium, nickel, etc. The second group of non-metallic deposits includes talc, serpentinite, and some GEM minerals. In this research, an attempt has been made to review mineral resources and their exploration prospects in the northwestern area of the Zagros Thrust Zone in Iran and the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
