In this lecture, after a review of the history of the language teaching methodologies, the commuinicative language teaching and its new dimentions and its effectiveness using the new technologies were elaborated upon.The roles of teachers and learners in completing this process were also explained. Finally, it was proposed that in teaching, the major roles should be given to the students and the teachers should mostly be the accelerators and lead the learners toward autonomy and autonomous learning.
