Abstract

A Very Brief Introduction to Law with an Approach to Iranian Laws is a handbook for undergraduate students reading law, those studying law as part of a mixed degree (jurisprudence courses), or students on other courses in which legal studies are included. Apart from students enrolled on academic courses, this book will also be of interest to others who are fascinated by Iran laws and seeking to improve their understanding of Iran's law materials. This short introduction describes and summarizes the main aspects and branches of law in general and in particular in Iran legal system. It is also deals with the basic concepts of the law in a logical and comprehensive way. The book has some unique features. One of the most important features of this work is focusing on the three branches of Iranian laws, and special attention was paid to international law as the cornerstone of international legal order. Accordingly, in order to establish a clear picture of these four branches of law, the book is divided into four sections. In order to become the book more practical, I have also tried when deemed necessary to incorporate some of the important institutions and rules of the Iranian laws, whether Constitution or ordinary laws, into the book. Consequently, the reader will find that this book differs from most other law texts.
