Fiber Reinforced Polymers as a kind of composite materials have been widely applied to strengthening of reinforced concrete (RC) structures in recent years. This paper investigates the strengthening of short circular as well as square columns with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) using five selected confinement models reported in literature in the last decade as a stress-strain models for confined concrete to validate finite element models. The main variables of this work are the CFRP different thicknesses and the shape of the column cross section. In general, it is observed that the results obtained from the selected models are close to the experimental values.
