The production of concrete are dealing with different combinations of materials and manufacturing processes. It is difficult to find the optimal ratio of the components, and sometimes impossible to consider all possible conditions. Taguchi method is a numerical method to predict the optimal ratio of composite materials component by using specific orthogonal arrays. This paper investigated the efficiency and capabilities of this method to find the optimum concrete mix design. In this study, by selecting different mixing ratio of concrete components based on the Taguchi method and test results from fresh and hardened concrete properties, the efficiency of this method to optimize the concrete mix design has been investigated. The results have been compared with the national mix design.
