research on anti-Hofmeister sensing materials for anions is an expeditiously expanding domain in chemical sensors, recently, anion membrane electrodes, especially those based on metalloporphyrins [1],metallophthalocyanines[2],Schiff base complexes have been reported as possessing improved selectivity characteristics but most of the electrodes suffer from low linear linear range [4]. In this work, we report a new iodide selective membrabne electrode based on Octabromotetraphenylporphyrinato)manganes(III) Chloride, MnOBPCl. The electrode exhibits a Nernstian response response for I- ion a wide concentration range (1.0x10-1-1.0x10-6 M) with a detection limit of 7.1x10-7 M. The proposedc electrode has a fast response time and can be used for at least three months without any considerable divergence in potentials. The electrode was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of iodide with silver ion and in determination iodid in drug 1. S.Daunert, S. Wallare, A. Florido, and L. G.
