The volume 100 of Energy Procedia covers the selected papers of 2016 3rd Int. Conf. on Power and Energy Systems Engineering which encourages submissions from under-represented areas. It is noteworthy that this volume mainly covers the smart grids, microgrids and renewable energy issues. We recognize that not every paper will necessarily contain new theoretical results or new algorithms, and strongly encourages the submissions that provide new models and analyses that are rigorously validated through implementation and experimentation. .
