This research carried out to assess osmotic adjustment of chickpea genotypes in drought stress condition in 2012 at the Plant Physiology Laboratory of university of Kurdistan, Iran. In this study 19 genotype chickpea in 3 le vel drought stress (control, -6, -9 bar) in hydroponic condition, as a split plot experiment with randomize complete block design. The results showed that drought stress level and genotype had a significant effect on osmotic adjustment degree (p< 0.01). Genotypes showed a considerable variation for osmotic adjustment degree. In -6 and -9 bar drought stress conditions it had a range of 0.13 to 0.75 and 0.14 to 1.2 MPa, respectively.
