Abstract

The current study aimed to figure out the factor structure of 15 subtests and four indices of WISC-IV, based on the CHC model in children aged 6 to 16 years of the Kurdistan region. To this aim, a final normal sample of 546 volunteers (303 females and 243 males), was selected, aged from 6 to 16-year-old in Kurdistan in 2019 and 2020 in preschools, elementary and high schools of the normal counties of Sulaimaniyah, Erbil and Halabja. The sample had no disorders such as ADHD, autism spectrum and any learning disorder, no drug use and no substance abuse. Six instructed raters administrated the Kurdish translated, adapted and normed version of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children- Fourth Edition (WISC-IV). To the analysis of the data, the correlation coefficient and the second-order confirmatory factor analysis were conducted. In sum, the results in line with research literature showed that the CHC model is a relevant and sufficient theoretical base for WISC-IV empirical evidence.
