External PIXE Analysis of old inks and papers PIXE is a powerful technique in analyzing elements in various samples both in vacuum and in atmosphere (external PIXE). In the present work external PIXE has been employed to analyze elements in the ancient and new papers and inks. Our results show that PIXE is capable of distinguishing new samples elements from the old samples elements.
