One-pot and one-step synthesis of symmetrical substituted 2,5-diamino-1,3,4-thiadiazoles is described. Reaction of easily prepared dithiocarbamates with hydrazine gave the corresponding thiadiazoles in moderated to good yields. This method is new, efficient and simple especially the work-up procedure.
