The Bi2223 phase is of both scientific and technological interests, since it has a higher value of critical temperature (Tc) and is amenable for processing of long length conductors and bulk devices. The major limitation of the Bi2223 superconductor applications is the low critical current density (Jc) due to intergrain weak links and weak flux pinning capability [1,2]. Also synthesis of high- purity Bi2223 phase has been shown to be a difficult task [3]. In this work the effect of Al2O3-15wt%ZrO2 nanocomposite addition on the phase formation and superconducting properties of Bi2223 phase have been investigated.
