Abstract

Similar to the Middle East, Pottery Neolithic period in Iran is introduced after the pre-pottery Neolithic and is one of the leading area of the region. Due to the vastness of area, existence of different climates and various geographies, the Neolithic period of Iran must be studied based on the native and local characteristics. According to the available data, the pottery Neolithic period of Iran begins as early as the 7th millennium BC which by the late seven millennia and the early sixth millennia BC had expanded to most parts of Iran. Judging by their technical, firing, decoration and form, the Neolithic pottery were low quality and initially seem to have had brought about changes in the livelihoods and development of villages.
