Results of investigation dealing with the Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) for jamrani dam proposed to be constructed in India with high percentage of fly ash presented.RCC had a cementitious materials content ranging from 170 to 206 kg/m of concrete and water content ranging from 98 to 106 kg/m in order to simulate the modified proctor test was fabricated for the compaction of RCC specimens of different geometry. Tests were performed to determine various properties of fresh and hardened RCC such as the density, compressive and tensile strength, elastic properties. Permeability and thermal properties. Mathematical Models have been proposed for establishing relationship between strength/elastic properties, age of testing and fly ash content. In spite of relatively low cement content.RCC has been found to have excellent mechanical and elastic properties and performs satisfactorily in permeability. Thermal properties of RCC are found to be close the conventional mass concrete.
