Introduction
Fereidoun H. Panahi received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Keio University, Yokohama, Japan, in 2013 and 2016, respectively. From 2016 to 2018, he was awarded the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (DC2 and Postdoctoral (PD)). From April 2017 to September 2017, he was a Visiting Assistant Project Scientist (Postdoctoral Researcher) with the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of California (UCLA), Los Angeles. From September 2016 to March 2019, he was also a Visiting Postdoctoral Researcher with Keio University. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the University of Kurdistan, Sanandaj (UOK). His research interests include 5G, green communications and networking, cognitive radio, the Internet of Things, machine learning, intelligent mobile networks, heterogeneous networks, and D2D communication. He was a recipient of the Ph.D. Scholarship from Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (Monbukagakusho or MEXT), the Master Scholarship from JGC-S Scholarship Foundation (Nikki Saneyoshi/Daisanshu) in Japan, and the IEEE VTS Japan Young Researcher’s Encouragement Award, in 2015 from the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society/Japan Chapter.
